My name is Bradley Sebastian 

With over 16 years of experience as a service technician, I’ve built a career on technical precision, diagnostics, and creative problem‑solving. While I’ve always taken pride in my work, my true passion has always been video games and the craft of building interactive experiences. That passion led me to enroll in the Game Development program at Full Sail University, where I’m expanding my skills in game design, programming, and level creation.

 

I bring a unique blend of real‑world technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a strong commitment to learning new tools and systems. My goal is to apply the problem‑solving discipline I’ve developed over years in the field to designing thoughtful, engaging gameplay spaces. Game design isn’t just a career path for me—it’s something I’m deeply invested in, and I’m driven to grow, contribute, and create meaningful experiences that benefit both players and the studio I work with.

“A high-octane 2D retro shooter developed in Unreal Engine 5 to master C++, Blueprints, and polished game feel through precise wave management and UI design.”
Role:
Lead Developer – C++ & Blueprint Architecture
Contributions:
• Engineered fluid 2D movement, projectiles, and collision detection systems by integrating C++ with Blueprints.
• Designed a procedural wave mechanic where primary asteroids fracture into tiered debris, requiring tactical clearance.
• Crafted a dynamic HUD for real-time tracking of wave progress, player health, and lives based on live game state.
• Optimized difficulty curves by balancing spawn algorithms, physics-based behaviors, and player hitbox metrics.
• Applied rigorous technical testing and iterative design to ensure software stability.

“A solo Unreal Engine exploration of complex gameplay systems, AI logic, and technical optimization. This project serves as a deep dive into how robust backend systems empower player agency and combat mechanics.”

• Engineered responsive NPC systems featuring branching dialogue triggers to enhance immersion and world-building.
• Developed sophisticated AI navigation using finite state machines for dynamic behaviors like patrolling and chasing.
• Constructed a flexible inventory and magic system utilizing data-driven architecture for seamless resource management.
• Programmed core combat loops including health management, item collection, and status effects.
• Employed advanced debugging workflows (C++ breakpoints and visual logs) to ensure system stability and performance.

Lead Designer – Gameplay & Level Architecture
• Developed interactive NPCs with dynamic dialogue systems to deepen the narrative and enrich the player’s journey.
• Engineered a modular inventory framework via scriptable objects
• Strategically placed gates and redirection valves to manage player pacing and minimize excessive backtracking.
• Formulated detailed level outlines to translate abstract concepts into grounded, realistic gameplay scenarios.
• Executed the full level block-out phase to refine spatial navigation and sightlines.
• Programmed complex bridge gate logic and tunnel transit systems to guide progression and naturally lock key areas.
